Nominal data is data which can be divided into labeled categories that do not overlap.
Ordinal data is nominal data which can be ranked (put into order). Ordinal data does NOT contain information about the distances between these ranked categories.
Interval data measures (or counts) a quantity, amount, or range. Calculations can be performed on this type of data.
