ADMS 2320 – Week 1 Recap

Hello there,

Welcome to the end of your first week in ADMS 2320: Business Statistics. My name is Jason and I will be your guide throughout this course. Expect weekly updates from me, and don’t hesitate to reach out for clarifications or questions..

We’ve kicked off the semester by covering the first three chapters of the course material. Chapter 1 was brief, but introduced several basic concepts that will serve as the foundation for the rest of the course.

Chapter 2 took us through the process of graphing nominal data. It’s pretty straightforward, but remember, practice is key to perfecting these skills.

Chapter 3, on the other hand, challenged us to shift gears to graph ‘interval’ data. We transitioned from bar charts to histograms, which involved a bit more mathematical application. If you find this difficult, don’t fret – it’s normal. Just keep practicing, and you’ll get the hang of it in no time.

Now, if I were to give you only one piece of advice for how to make the most of this course, it would be to watch each section on my website (below) before it’s covered in class. Staying a step ahead in this way will provide a multitude of benefits, including:

1. Less stress due to avoiding cramming,

2. Improved performance on midterms and exams, as you’re gradually absorbing the information and allowing your mind to properly process it,

3. More time to focus on your other courses,

4. A better understanding of in-class discussions because you’ve reviewed the material at your own pace beforehand.

That’s all from me for now. Remember, I’m here for your success. Best of luck!

Best Regards,

Jason
