Frequency and Relative Frequency Distributions

A frequency distribution describes the number of data values that fall within each category.

relative frequency distribution describes the proportion of data values that fall within each category.

Proportion (p) = frequency in a category / total number of observations

p=f/n

NOTE: Proportion and relative frequency mean the same thing.
